Beatrice Antolini, a lunar creature pilot of herself.
This is the second appointment with my first column for MeiWeb, "Musica in Giallo", and I am grateful if you are reading me, be it the first or second time.
Even today I am talking about a female artist.
An artist who knows how to express himself very well, doing more things well, not just one. She is also very blond. Perhaps being a brunette, am I attracted to my opposite / complementary?
No, I don't think it's a matter of "dyeing", I think it's a matter of magnetism, determination and consequent self-termination, therefore of conscience: if during your existence you don't take your life in your hands, you can then renounce forever be yourself or the authentic representation that you want to offer to the world, and let someone else do it; perhaps interpreting the colors and nature of your soul well, or making you_ let me tell you ... a kind of awkward and sad Christmas tree, decorated and polished to the same degree, according to equally sad fashions and slashing tendencies ... so a poor Christmas tree, whose function is to stay up, stay up as much as possible, willy-nilly, for as long as it takes to celebrate.

I was saying, the Artist I am telling you about today is a determined person and creator of his path, an artist with more talents: this also translates, for example, into his being a true multi-instrumentalist, who makes of these his skills / studies / talents the baggage with which he has always built his wonderful and suggestive musical clothes.
Bea is not "just" one who has been writing and singing her songs for a long time (debut in 2004), but it is also one that produces them. And this is quite rare for a woman, and in Italy, if you think about it, even more. I would say that it almost becomes a "strange" thing, to which one looks "almost" with suspicion ... let it be!
More generally and in a more international way we could say that Beatrice Antolini is to all intents and purposes, and here I take inspiration from what appears to me by going on her instagram profile: a musicproducer & multiintrumental.
Piano, keyboards, synths, drums, bass ... and I stop here, not to lose myself and make you lose in a list; there is little to do, his is a life totally dedicated to music, a timeless and alienating music, a music that no doubt wants to be_ and is_ from the beginning, an authentic and faithful representation of his lunar self.
And mind you, I don't talk about her because of hearsay or because I've read around some article / or seen some videos on the web; I talk about it because I had the pleasure of meeting her and deepening her knowledge. And without holding back, I say with admiration that for me it is undoubtedly one of the most complete and capable artists (and artists) on the Italian scene. And it has been for a long time, I don't know, if someone hadn't noticed ...
Among other things, given the portal I write for, I cannot fail to remind you that in the distant 2009 it also won the PIMI Award, given to it by MEI.
Interesting and varied are his collaborations, which however seem to me linked by a kind of common thread of minds, I report only a few (when the curriculum is long, we concentrate only on certain passages ...): from Manuel Agnelli to Andrea Fumagalli (better known as Andy dei Bluvertigo), from Baustelle to Emis Killa, from Federico Poggipollini to Angela Baraldi, from Vince Pastano ... to Vasco Rossi!
And in fact Vasco wanted it in his last live shows, starting from the monumental Non Stop Live 2018, entrusting it among other things with a task as important and extraordinary as it is difficult and onerous: to present the song I'm The Pilot, of which Beatrice she is author and producer, inside the Interlude (central moment dedicated to the band), during her gigantic and epochal live destined to remain in the history ... live of hundreds of thousands of people! Who wouldn't be shaking their legs in a bit? But the warrior and pilot Antolini, knew how to do it ... and she did it, bringing home honor and glory, translated: awards and follow-up. As indeed it is right and sacrosanct as it is!

By now you will have understood, the video I choose today for my column is the videoclip by I'm The Pilot, an essential and magnetic video, a video without frills, that captures the lunar and hypnotic soul of Beatrice: elusive but also firm and anchored to her mission, dreamlike and very sweet but also austere and serious, she who is so intimate and close ... yet very far away!
I have told you from the title: she is not of this earth, she comes from the moon, and her music is destined to remain in time, because in a certain sense she is out of it ... it originates from obscure and uncrowded places, where it is still possible to listen to oneself and one's inspired soul.

bio Beatrice Antolini Born in Macerata, where he began playing the piano at the age of 3 years. He soon became passionate about punk rock music, and later played drums in a Joy Division tribute band and bass in another group [1], demonstrating his versatile talent as a girl. In the meantime he moved to Bologna, where he graduated as an actress in the Colli Theater School in 2002. His very first debuts are related to some performances of the company and a composition for the show Fabulous princesses by Silvia Roncaglia.
After other experiences as an actress, she starts composing songs (with lyrics in English) and gets a contract with the independent label Madcap Collective by Paolo Moretti (Little Brown), Federico Zanatta (Nurse, Father Murphy) and Andrea Rottin (Oswald, Andrea Rottin, Oswaldovi, Atlantic Cable) in 2006. He released his first album, Big Saloon, in November 2006 (Madcap / Silly Boy Ent, with Audioglobe distribution). Antolini's style blends different genres: above all classic pop, electronic, funk and progressive rock. In all the songs he uses voice, piano and synth.
In 2007 he plays the keyboards in the piece Electric Princess taken from The midnight room by Jennifer Gentle by Marco Fasolo. In the same year he collaborated with the Baustelles, playing in Amen (his is No Stainway) and in 2008 with Bugo . On February 7, 2008 his debut album was reprinted and remastered by Davide Cristiani and by Antolini and published with a new cover by Madcap Collective and Silly Boy Entertainment.
On 17 October 2008 his second album, A due (Urtovox Records) was released, a record that received many enthusiastic reviews [4], and obtained the cover of the magazine Il Mucchio Selvaggio in August. Beatrice Antolini chooses to promote A due through the liveCASTour project designed by Michele Faggi and the indie-eye webzine, which broadcasts a closed-door concert on the web, distributed in 8 video clips for 8 generalist portals (Myspace Italia, Kataweb Musica, Rockit , Blogosfere, MusicZOne, Qoob TV, Mtv.it, Indie-eye.it) On this record, the style becomes more aggressive and approaches psychedelic and experimental music .
In 2009 he participates in the project Il paese è reale, created by Manuel Agnelli with the Afterhours, inserting the song Venetian Hautboy in the compilation Afterhours present: The country is real (19 artists for a better country?).
Also in 2009 he collaborated with the Roman group Velvet in two tracks: Connection, included in the vinyl version of the album In the list of bad habits and Confusion is best, inserted in the digital EP of the same name [7]. In the same year he took part in important exhibitions and festivals such as the Moog Fest Europe and the May Day concert in Rome, Italia Wave in Livorno, the Festival of the Passions of Mantua, Musicultura di Macerata and Pianohour, organized by Musicus Concentus in the Sala Vanni of Florence .
In September 2009 he participated, accompanied by Andrea "Andy" Fumagalli (Bluvertigo) at the Moog Fest at the Auditorium of Rome. She won the PIMI 2009 (prize promoted by the MEI of Faenza) as "best solo artist", which was conferred on November 27th in Faenza. Receives the invitation from Sonicvisions to participate in an important festival at the Luxembourg RockHal.
In 2010 he participates as a session musician / multi-instrumentalist in the A Toys Orchestra tour, and on November 5, 2010 he publishes BioY, his third album, produced (and played almost entirely) by Antolini herself. In 2011, following a chance encounter in Cagliari, she was noticed by the musician and poet Lydia Lunch, one of the historical voices of the no wave scene of the late 70s and early 80s, who invited her to play in some concerts. This experience will then culminate with the formation of a trio named Sister Assassin, with the addition of US saxophonist Jessie Evans .
In 2012 he is guitarist for the Australian composer Ben Frost in Music for Six Guitars, presented in the contemporary music festival MITO organized in Milan Central Station .

bio Beatrice Antolini Born in Macerata, where he began playing the piano at the age of 3 years. He soon became passionate about punk rock music, and later played drums in a Joy Division tribute band and bass in another group [1], demonstrating his versatile talent as a girl. In the meantime he moved to Bologna, where he graduated as an actress in the Colli Theater School in 2002. His very first debuts are related to some performances of the company and a composition for the show Fabulous princesses by Silvia Roncaglia.
After other experiences as an actress, she starts composing songs (with lyrics in English) and gets a contract with the independent label Madcap Collective by Paolo Moretti (Little Brown), Federico Zanatta (Nurse, Father Murphy) and Andrea Rottin (Oswald, Andrea Rottin, Oswaldovi, Atlantic Cable) in 2006. He released his first album, Big Saloon, in November 2006 (Madcap / Silly Boy Ent, with Audioglobe distribution). Antolini's style blends different genres: above all classic pop, electronic, funk and progressive rock. In all the songs he uses voice, piano and synth.
In 2007 he plays the keyboards in the piece Electric Princess taken from The midnight room by Jennifer Gentle by Marco Fasolo. In the same year he collaborated with the Baustelles, playing in Amen (his is No Stainway) and in 2008 with Bugo . On February 7, 2008 his debut album was reprinted and remastered by Davide Cristiani and by Antolini and published with a new cover by Madcap Collective and Silly Boy Entertainment.
On 17 October 2008 his second album, A due (Urtovox Records) was released, a record that received many enthusiastic reviews [4], and obtained the cover of the magazine Il Mucchio Selvaggio in August. Beatrice Antolini chooses to promote A due through the liveCASTour project designed by Michele Faggi and the indie-eye webzine, which broadcasts a closed-door concert on the web, distributed in 8 video clips for 8 generalist portals (Myspace Italia, Kataweb Musica, Rockit , Blogosfere, MusicZOne, Qoob TV, Mtv.it, Indie-eye.it) On this record, the style becomes more aggressive and approaches psychedelic and experimental music .
In 2009 he participates in the project Il paese è reale, created by Manuel Agnelli with the Afterhours, inserting the song Venetian Hautboy in the compilation Afterhours present: The country is real (19 artists for a better country?).
Also in 2009 he collaborated with the Roman group Velvet in two tracks: Connection, included in the vinyl version of the album In the list of bad habits and Confusion is best, inserted in the digital EP of the same name [7]. In the same year he took part in important exhibitions and festivals such as the Moog Fest Europe and the May Day concert in Rome, Italia Wave in Livorno, the Festival of the Passions of Mantua, Musicultura di Macerata and Pianohour, organized by Musicus Concentus in the Sala Vanni of Florence .
In September 2009 he participated, accompanied by Andrea "Andy" Fumagalli (Bluvertigo) at the Moog Fest at the Auditorium of Rome. She won the PIMI 2009 (prize promoted by the MEI of Faenza) as "best solo artist", which was conferred on November 27th in Faenza. Receives the invitation from Sonicvisions to participate in an important festival at the Luxembourg RockHal.

In 2011, following a chance encounter in Cagliari, she was noticed by the musician and poet Lydia Lunch, one of the historical voices of the no wave scene of the late 70s and early 80s, who invited her to play in some concerts.
